UTCSA will be introducing an ADAS ROV Pilot Technician course starting July 2008.
ROVs are expensive and complex machines that are usually operated in remote locations. It is important that all pilot technicians are able to “fly” the machines in a competent and safe manner.
The course has been designed to encompass as a minimum all of the requirements of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA). The number of actual flight hours logged under training will be substantially more than the IMCA minimum requirements.
Initial courses to the IMCA standard will be 3-4 weeks in duration. Students will learn the necessary skills on a state of the art ROV simulation, followed by hands on training on the latest specification SeaEye Falcon ROV.
